Hello! I’m Jo Lodge . . .
I’m an illustrator and paper engineer.
I have always loved pop-up books and I was greatly influenced by my artistic parents – my mother Maureen Roffey, an illustrator and my father Bernard Lodge, a graphic designer. They encouraged me from an early age to draw and make things.
I graduated from art school with a degree in fashion design but after working in the fashion world for three years I decided to switch and follow a career in illustration and paper engineering. Rod Campbell (the founder of Campbell Books) published my first 6 books in 1996. Since then I have produced more than 100 books.
Mr Croc
I am perhaps best known for my Mr Croc character (published by Hodder Children's Books) which has sold worldwide.
I live in the countryside near Brighton with my husband Rob and our dog Dolly. We have two grown up sons Ben and Louis.
